Renault 4 in and around Antananarivo

Antananarivo, or Tana, is a hidden gem, perfect if you have under 10 days or a bit of extra time. Unlike the rest of Madagascar, which often requires long 4x4 drives, Tana offers easy access to beautiful nature: the rainforests of Andasibe with lemurs and reptiles, the lemur park, the volcanic village of Ampefy with its lakes, rivers and waterfalls, and even professional horse riding at Sakay.

Rich in culture, Tana also lets you discover Malagasy history through palaces, museums and exhibitions, and enjoy local life in traditional restaurants, lively markets and unique souvenir shops.

Where else the Renault 4 can go

  • RN7 to Tuléar: all the way, including the Tsaranoro valley, where the Renault just makes it.
  • Morondava: as far as the Avenue of the Baobabs. For the Tsingy you need a 4x4.
  • RN4 and RN6 (Mahajanga, Diego Suarez): ask us about the road conditions first.
